Training Journal 4.15.08
Today was Cardio Day, in the morning, so I went ahead and tried out a new GPP workout:
- High knees dumbbell press (I use water bottles, one in each arm) – 30 seconds
- Bodyweight squats – 30 seconds
- Divebomber pushups – 30 seconds
- Burpees – 30 seconds
- Rest – 30 seconds
All that four times. Looking back, I totally could have gone for an extra round or two. Maybe next time.
Jiu Jitsu tonight wasn’t particularly remarkable – Tuesday is technique day with Amazon, and then open sparring, but in the open sparring sessions all the really good guys do no-gi, so I get to relax a little bit with the people training with the gi. Amazon reviewed a few things – triangle from guard -> armbar -> pendulum sweep, kimura -> hip bump sweep -> omoplata, and some guard passing. Good stuff.
